Black Cats were hipsters before hipsters were cool

Here is this week's illustration, based on my own black cat  - Miika - He's a big guy who's around 13 or 14, he enjoys sitting in my lap WHENEVER POSSIBLE and is an all around pretty friendly guy.  Miika and I were talking and we would like to put the old superstition of black cats being unlucky to rest, they are very lucky and also totally hipster before hipsters were cool...

Also did you know that black animals have a hard time getting adopted from animal shelters - TOTALLY NOT COOL. We have two black dogs and one black cat and let me tell you, they blow any multi colored pet away. Anyway here's an article about it if you are interested: click here

And here is this week's illustration. I can't stop doodling faces. So this print is just simply based on this... I played around with some different textures too and like how it turned out.

Be Loud.

So here is last week's illustration, only a week late, but don't judge me yet, I have a good excuse. My adorable sister was visiting and I needed spend sometime with her instead of working, you know being free and loud - oh hey kind of like this illlustration :)

Anyhoo, this week I wanted to handraw my own lettering. I like how it turned out. I included my original doodle so you can kind of see my process a little more.

Make Believe

Follow Me on Pinterest

So this week's illustration is a quick little monsterific one.  I doodled this 'Make Believe" lettering in a staff meeting and really liked it. So a little crunched on time this week I scanned it in and threw in a little friendly two-eyed monster and woo-la, here ya go. If anyone's counting this is illustration number 18 of 2012!
